The key to the mystery of a great artist is that for reasons unknown, he will give away his energies and his life just to make sure that one note follows another . . . and leaves us with the feeling that something is right in the world.
-Leonard Bernstein (1918-1990)

It is not hard to compose, but it is wonderfully hard to let the superfluous notes fall under the table.
-Johannes Brahms

Music takes us out of the actual and whispers to us dim secrets that startle our wonder as to who we are, and for what, whence, and whereto.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

The concert on the 6th was tremendously well received! We had over 200 people in attendance-which was a record setter for us!
Thank you for all your hard work! Kudos to all!

WELCOME

The Providence Adult String Ensemble, (PASE) provides a safe encouraging,  yet challenging environment for adult amateur string players to progress.

Our goals include becoming more aware of the role each player contributes in an ensemble, to become more aware concertgoer's, to learn more about music and how it is put together, to become better ensemble members, and to enjoy music more because of all this awareness.

Consider joining us for one or more of our semesters. Each semester we take on a new set of music, with difficulties that will challenge you, but never overwhelm you. We even let you challenge yourself by participating in our solo opportunities, which started in our summer of 2002 semester, a chance to be a soloist in one movement with our group on our soloist’s piece for a rehearsal.
